point a to point B

It is important to understand what you wish to do conceptually 🤔 before you reach for any of your devices.

objective

Our goal in this example is to move a particular folder 📁 from one storage location to another.

The “Chippy” folder is currently located within the Pictures folder on this macOS computer.
We summoned a context menu on the “Chippy” folder and selected “Copy.”
We then navigated to the location where we wished to move the folder; summoned a context menu and then selected “Paste Item.”
We then navigated back to the Pictures folder; summoned a context menu on the Chippy folder and selected “Move to Trash.”

showtime!

If a device become inoperable 🎃 you will lose any files that are stored on that device.

Therefore it is recommended to back up your files onto an external storage device and/or in a cloud-based service (such as Apple’s iCloud Drive).

In this video, we want to move a folder from an “old” iPad to the iCloud Drive ☁️

REMINDER: You can access stuff that you have stored in the “cloud” from any device that is connected to the Internet.

NOTE: This video is rough (but gets the key points across). Tech Wizard Mike is a good teacher but he is still working on his videography skills.

Asking for help is a sign of self-respect, and I’m here. I always will be.
